126. NY Fashion Week Day 1

Mercedes Benz New York Fashion week Fall 2013  began with great gloom.

The day 1 of NY Fashion week is full of enthu and spirit showcasing the following designers…

NICHOLAS K
BCBGMAXAZRIA
RICHARD CHAI LOVE AND RICHARD CHAI MEN’S
TIMO WEILAND WOMEN’S
TADASHI SHOJI
SERGIO DAVILA

CONCEPT KOREA

Nicholas K proved hoods are a fashion must with “Arctic theme”.

BCBGMAXAZRIA streamed the runway with a beanie-brigade with all leather, fur and embellishments. The collection looked like ice cream sundae with “Middle East meets modern Theme”

RICHARD CHAI LOVE AND RICHARD CHAI MEN’S had the runway with Monochrome slip dresses, knee-length pencil skirts, boyfriend coats, slim-fit trousers, plaid separates, and military-inspired outerwear made up the mostly neutral and jewel-toned collection with more clean cut and conservative approach.
But Actresses Christina Ricci and Maggie Grace attracted the  photographers before the start of the show.

TIMO WEILAND WOMEN’S collection was very inviting and very feminine. Color of red, hot leather skirts, sheer panels were sophisticated and completely in style.

TADASHI SHOJI collection had the “Russian royalty as theme”. His models had the touches of goth. Peasant dresses and velvet gowns charmed the runway. One of my fav runways of the day. Loved his collection.

SERGIO DAVILA collection included shiny metallic skinny pants, a knitted sweater with sequin embellishments and a chocolate brown colored dress with a tiered hem.

CONCEPT KOREA
The theme of this season’s runway show was “Rhythm of Korea”.
Each of the designers picked ten looks to showcase.

KYE
Choi Bo Ko’s
Cres. E Dim’s
Lie Sang Bong
Son Jung Wangw

KYE– Inspired by the Seoul Station her collection included prints laden with graffiti. Stand out looks included print-on-prints and outerwear like a fur jacket in electric blue.

Choi Bo Ko’s line took inspiration from abstract images of nature and dance. The line included dresses, outerwear and trousers made of mixed materials like felt, mink, wool. The standout piece was a drool-worthy white moto jacket with shearling sleeves.

Cres. E Dim’s line was full of heavy, luxe leather.

Lie Sang Bong dubbed the “Alexander McQueen” of Seoul had printed neoprene jackets, slick, sexy dresses and tailored trousers. His showstopper though was a wide-brimmed futurist cap that glowed down the runway.

Son Jung Wang – Her collection was full of retro and glam references with gowns made of royal purple tulle, dresses mixed with mink, and blouses with fur sleeves. Everything was beautifully made.
